Ok, so in Episode 1, Keiichi met the village photographer, Tomitake, and guess what! YEP He’s now dead. And his partner, Takano, is gone. The village believe that its the curse of Oyashiro-sama. But Keiichi thinks this is bs. During a break from the gangs club activities, Keiichi is called outside by a cop, Oiishi (Delicious in English, but thats a literal trans). He tells Keiichi about the death and disappearance. Later that night, the cop/detective calls, and he and Keiichi exchange sweet love….i mean, talk about what they know of this murder/mystery. Kei-chans dad interupts with tea for him and rena. Wait a minute what? Exactly, Rena was never there, or, was she? Keiichi realizes that Rena had been listening in the whole damn time. Oh Shit, Keiichi thinks. Now, Rena and Mion begin to suspect Keiichi of hiding something. Although, they basically already know the whole story.

This anime starts out a little strange. You have the main guy, Keiichi, beating two girls with a bat. WHY THE HELL? You may be thinking. Well, we will get to that later. This episode is mainly about getting to know the town, Hinamizawa, and the 5 main characters: Riika, Satoko, Keiichi, Mion, and Rena. It is basically the episode that you downright have to watch in order to understand everything else at the moment. So, basically, thats it for episode 1. Oh yeah, Keiichi also learns of a gruesome murder that occured a while back in Hinamizawa. Did I metion this takes place in SHOWA 58?
